why you should care Because I read a lot, and you don't. Or because I read a lot and you want to read more. Or because you read a ton but are always looking for new books. Or how about you want someone else to weed out the crap and tell you what's great so you don't have to bother. Or you're one of those people who have no real opinion about anything. Or you're a bottom at heart and just want to be told what to do. Well, baby, I'm your book top. So here's the deal: I read, I tell you what's great in either long, short, or list form and you do what you want with it. Also, you see that button on the home page? You know, the one that looks like a button? You push it and you can tell me what you drool over, can't stand, must have, won't accept, are enamored of, and live for in a book and I'll match your criteria with a real live book! Ta-da! The column on the right is the if-I-had-my-way-here's-what-you'd-be-reading-right-now list. That'll change regularly, in time with the shifting focus of my obsession. Here's what I don't do: review bad books. This is not intended to be well-rounded; the point is to get people connected with great books, not to give already important authors more publicity. So if Gabriel Garcia Marquez writes a flunker, don't expect to hear about it here. why
i care And also, I'm sick of being surrounded by the illiterati all the damn time and I'm hoping that if I can get the gospel spread fast enough, I'll have more interesting people to talk to. So could you read something? Please? And then maybe even try to articulate an opinion or two about it? You know, a conversation, a sentence, anything. Because I'm bored to tears here and I'm waiting, just waiting for y'all to catch up. And lastly, I like telling people what to do. So go ahead; read a fucking book.
